PHOENIX, AZ (August 29, 2024) — A 47-year-old woman identified as Latisha Sterling died in a pedestrian accident on Friday, August 18.
 
According to Phoenix Police, the accident happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. near 67th Avenue and Indian School Road.
 
Reports said Sterling tried to cross Indian School Road outside of a crosswalk area. Then a vehicle struck her.
 
When officers arrived at the crash site, they found Sterling lying on the road with injuries. Emergency responders transported her to the hospital, where she later died.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment.
 
Detectives continue to investigate what caused the accident.
