Kenneth Frank Arrested after Hit-and-Run Moped Accident in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 23, 2024) — Authorities arrested 68-year-old Kenneth Frank after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Friday, January 19.
 
According to Metro police, at about 11:55 p.m., police rushed to a report of a hit-and-run on East Flamingo Road near South Pecos Road.
 
Evidence at the scene and witness statements determined that a Ford F150 traveled eastbound on Flamingo Road. The vehicle moved towards the intersection near South Pecos Road behind a moped.
 
The accident happened when the Ford failed to slow down. Then, approaching the intersection, it collided into the back of the moped. The impact ejected the 66-year-old moped rider from the moped. After that, the Ford continued moving east on Flamingo Road.
 
The moped rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Detectives searched the area and found a truck that matched the description of the vehicle. They then determined the truck was one from the crash and the driver. After that, they identified him as Frank and took him into custody.
 
Frank now faces charges of reckless driving, resulting in death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.
 
This incident marks the 11th traffic-related death in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2024.
