Keavon Daniels Arrested after Las Vegas DUI Car Accident

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (July 27, 2023) — Officials arrested 29-year-old Keavon Daniels of Las Vegas after admitting to falling asleep while driving with three children in the car on Saturday, July 22.
 
According to Las Vegas police, at around 9:58 a.m. Daniels was driving a Jeep Compass northbound on Hollywood Boulevard when it crossed into the southbound lanes as it approached the intersection with East Sahara Avenue. The Jeep crashed head-on with one car before crashing with a third car.
 
Daniels admitted that he fell asleep momentarily while driving. He claims when he woke up, a car was directly in front of him and he could not avoid a collision.
 
Daniels’ 4-year-old daughter required CPR and emergency surgery at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center after suffering a broken neck.
 
The 5 and 6-year-old boys also needed emergency surgery for their injuries. One child suffered a ruptured bladder and lacerated liver. In addition, the other had lacerated intestines.
 
LVMPD noted that all three children were believed to have been wearing seatbelts, but there were no child car seats in the Jeep.
 
Paramedics also transported the drivers and a passenger of the two other vehicles involved to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
Court records show that Daniels is facing 12 counts. These including three counts of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
