Karlon Brown and Five Others Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Accident in Burien

 
BURIEN, WA (August 6, 2024) — 47-year-old Kent resident, Karlon W. Brown, and five others were hurt in an accident on Friday, July 19.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the wrong-way crash involving three vehicles happened on Highway 509 at 136th Street at 10:55 p.m.
 
WSP said the first vehicle driven by Brown traveled southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 509. Then it swerved and sideswiped the second vehicle moving northbound on the highway. After that, it crashed head-on into the third vehicle that was behind the second vehicle.
 
All three vehicles were wrecked in the accident.
 
In a report, WSP confirmed that six people from all three vehicles, including Brown, suffered injuries. Paramedics brought them to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. They sustained minor to serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Officers continue to investigate Brown for DUI and vehicular assault.
 
Authorities closed the roadway for more than five hours when they conducted an on-scene investigation.
