EDGEWOOD, TX (October 17, 2024) — Two people, identified as Karen Carlisle and Sara Stoehr, died in a car accident on Saturday, September 28.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident took place on Highway 19, roughly one mile south of Highway 80 at about 7:54 p.m.
 
The initial report from DPS said that 63-year-old Karen Carlisle of Wills Point drove a 2014 Ford Focus north on Highway 19. At the same time, 24-year-old Sara Stoehr of Larue drove a 2019 Dodge Journey south on the same highway.
 
Then the Ford Focus left its lane. After that, it struck the Dodge Journey.
 
Both Carlisle and Stoehr suffered fatal injuries and died.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported three children in the vehicle with Stoehr to a children’s hospital in Dallas.
 
DPS continues to investigate the accident.
