GLENDALE, AZ (December 4, 2023) — A man identified as 26-year-old Justin Syphurs died in a pedestrian accident on Sunday, November 5.
 
According to Glendale police, the accident happened near 43rd Avenue and Peoria Avenue at around 5:15 p.m.
 
Police said a woman drove west on Peoria Avenue. Then she struck Syphurs who was crossing the road mid-block. He sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Authorities said speed and impairment did not contribute as factors in the crash. There is also no citation issued.
 
Officers closed the area near the crash site for several hours Sunday night during an investigation. In addition, they encouraged motorists to find alternate routes.
