Juliene Aumani Killed after Phoenix Car Accident
PHOENIX, AZ (July 25, 2024) — A woman identified as 53-year-old Juliene Aumani died in a fiery accident on Friday, July 5.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the accident took place near North 56th Street and East Pinnacle Peak Road, shortly before 9:00 p.m.
Investigators believe that a Fiat driven by 19-year-old Madison Carey left the roadway. Then it went back across the centerline and crashed head-on into the Toyota Corolla that Aumani and four other victims were in.
Phoenix Fire officers arrived at the scene and discovered the two vehicles on fire. They then extinguished the flames and treated six people at the scene.
After that, they brought all the injured to local trauma hospitals in critical condition. Phoenix police said Aumani died as soon as she arrived at the hospital.
Detectives continue to investigate whether alcohol or drugs was a factor in the incident.
Police said after Carey had been released from the hospital, they booked her for a manslaughter charge.
