TUCSON, AZ (September 9, 2024) – The Tucson Police Department identified 40-year-old Julie P. Nagel who died in a pedestrian accident on West Speedway Boulevard on August 27.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at North Perry Avenue shortly before 5:40 AM. Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking on the median in the center of Speedway Boulevard prior to the crash.
 
When she stepped into the eastbound lanes, an eastbound Ford F-150 pickup struck.
 
As a result, Nagel suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported her to the hospital, where she later died.
 
Tucson Police identified the driver of the truck as a 41-year-old man. A DUI Officer determined that impairment was not a factor in the incident.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
