Judith Cook Dead, Charles Cook Injured after Everson Head-On Crash
EVERSON, WA (July 31, 2024) — An 87-year-old Burlington woman, Judith Cook, died in a head-on accident on Wednesday, July 17.
According to the Washington State Patrol, 86-year-old Charles H. Cook drove a 2013 Toyota Corolla with Judith A. Cook as the passenger. They traveled north on Highway 9 near East Hoff Road, just north of Cedarville.
At the same time, another vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Express van, moved south on Highway. Then it crossed into the other lane and caused the head-on accident with the Corolla.
Paramedics transported the Charles and Judith to St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. Medical personnel pronounced Judith dead.
Meanwhile, the driver of the van was not hurt. Officers identified the driver as 29-year-old Blaise Zongo from Auburn.
WSP said everyone involved in the crash wore seat belts.
Authorities continue to investigate the accident.
