Joseph Sandoval Struck and Killed by Tommy Lopez in Lubbock

 
LUBBOCK, TX (October 3, 2023) – Officers identified 54-year-old Joseph Sandoval who died in a pedestrian accident on 5th Street on September 27.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at Walnut Street. Based on a report, officers with the Clovis Police Department and crews of the Clovis Fire Department found Sandoval laying in the roadway.
 
Officers said 61-year-old Tommy Lopez struck the victim in the lanes.
 
As a result, Sandoval suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, where he later died.
 
Lopez stayed on the scene and cooperated with the responding officers.
 
Officials did not yet release the details that led to the crash. As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
