Jose Perez Arrested and Pedestrian Killed after DUI Accident on South Parker Road and South Peoria Street

 
AURORA, CO (September 26, 2024) — Authorities arrested 24-year-old Jose Perez after a fatal DUI accident on Sunday, September 22.
 
According to the Aurora Police Department, the crash occurred at about 6:00 a.m. at South Parker Road and South Peoria Street, near RTD’s Nine Mile Station.
 
Aurora Police said Perez drove an Infiniti SUV at a high rate of speed southbound on South Parker Road. Then he lost control and crashed into another vehicle. After that, his vehicle also fatally struck a man walking in the area.
 
Police said the Infinity also downed a light pole and hit two trees before came to a stop in the intersection.
 
Responding officers pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. They have not yet released his identity. The people in both vehicles were not hurt.
 
Officers arrested Perez on charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and reckless driving.
 
Police closed southbound South Parker Road in the area for multiple hours as they investigated the incident. They reopened the road at about 4:00 p.m.
