Jorge Nunez, Sofia Nunez, and Deborah Nunez Dead in Car Accident on Mountain Creek Lake Bridge
DALLAS, TX (October 17, 2024) — 30-year-old Jorge Nunez, of Fort Worth, and two children died in an accident on Thursday, September 26.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on Mountain Creek Lake Bridge in the Red Bird neighborhood shortly after 8:00 a.m.
The initial investigation determined Nunez drove a 2021 KIA Forte westbound on Mountain Creek Lake Bridge. At the same time, 45-year-old Christine Johnson Lugo, of Dallas, drove a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound.
Then Nunez’s vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic. After that, it collided with Lugo’s vehicle.
Nunez and his two passengers, 7-year-old Sofia Nunez and 5-year-old Deborah Nunez, died in the accident.
Lugo and her two passengers, 9-year-old Noah Lugo and 7-year-old Camila Lugo, sustained critical injuries. Paramedics transported all three of them to the hospital with critical injuries.
Troopers said the accident is still under investigation.
