Jonah Hurton Arrested after Fatal DUI Accident in Odessa

 
ODESSA, TX (December 10, 2024) — Authorities arrested 19-year-old Jonah Hurton, of Odessa, after a fatal DUI accident on Thursday, November 28.
 
According to the Odessa Police Department, the incident happened around 2:05 a.m. on 42nd Street near North County Road West.
 
OPD said a 2018 red Ford F-150 driven by Hurton traveled east on 42nd Street. Then it crashed with a 2011 Kia Sorrento moving north on North County Road West.
 
The 15-year-old male driver of the Kia died in the incident. Meanwhile, paramedics brought a 13-year-old male passenger to the Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries.
 
Officers later arrested Hurton for driving while intoxicated. After that, they transported him to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. OPD said there might be additional charges.
 
Authorities also determined that the Kia was a reported stolen vehicle.
