Johnathan Droddy Dies in Semi-Truck Crash in Beaumont
BEAUMONT, TX (October 27, 2022) – Johnathan Allen Droddy was confirmed dead following crash with an 18-wheeler on Interstate 10 on Tuesday.
The Beaumont Police went to the scene around 5:50 a.m. along north/eastbound and south/westbound Interstate 10 at Laurel Avenue.
The driver of the 18-wheeler lost control of the vehicle. Due to this, the truck drove towards the center divider and into the south/westbound lanes where it hit a 2016 Ford Escape.
A GMC Sierra Pickup truck also traveling in the area crashed into the center divider afterwards.
Authorities identified the Ford driver as 32-year-old Droddy of Vidor. Droddy succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene, police said.
The truck driver was taken to the Beaumont hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the truck driver was not disclosed.
However, the driver of the pickup was not injured at all.
Police are continuing the investigation at this time.
