Joe Miller and Jackie Dewoody Dead, Patrick Hamm Injured in Fannin County in Two-Vehicle Accident

 
BONHAM, TX (February 5, 2025) — Two people, Joe Miller and Jackie Dewoody, died in a two-vehicle accident on Saturday, February 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred on Highway 121 at FM 1629 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Texas DPS said 58-year-old Joe Miller, of Bonham, drove a GMC Sierra. Then he failed to yield at the intersection. As a result, a Dodge Ram driven by 16-year-old Patrick Hamm, of Whitewright, struck his vehicle.
 
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced Miller dead at the scene. Paramedics transported his passenger to Texoma Medical Center in Bonham, where she later succumbed to her injuries. They identified the passenger as 82-year-old Jackie Dewoody, of Mesquite.
 
Meanwhile, Hamm sustained serious injuries. Paramedics airlifted him to Medical City Plano for treatment.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
