Christopher Estevez and Jesse Webb Killed in Tacoma Car Crash

 
TACOMA, WA (February 2, 2023) – A car crash killed Jesse Webb and Christopher Garcia Estevez at Pacific Avenue and South 38th Street on Wednesday, January 18.

According to the Tacoma Police Department, the fatal collision occurred around 4:17 a.m. Based on a report, a Kia Optima drove at a high rate of speed and past a red light, causing it to crash into a northbound Kia Forte.

After that, the Optima spun and struck a utility pole that was located at least 100 feet away where it caught fire.

Responders found 17-year-old Webb of Lynnwood and 16-year-old Estevez with major injuries. Both died at the scene.

Another 15-year-old boy was pulled out from the burning Optima by a passerby. Responders sent him to the hospital with serious injuries.

The 50-year-old driver of the Forte was transported to a hospital with a broken foot. He was heading to work when the accident happened.

Investigation also revealed that the Optima was a stolen vehicle. The owner from King County reported it.

Due to the accident, the intersection was unavailable for several hours. There is no information yet on who drove the vehicle that caused the wreck.
