Jesse Ramirez Killed after Multi-Vehicle Crash on 10 Freeway in Jefferson County
JEFFERSON COUNTY, TX (July 31, 2024) — A 59-year-old man, identified as Jesse Ramirez, died in a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday, July 20.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the three-car took place on 10 Freeway at mile marker 831 at around noon last Saturday.
DPS said that the initial investigation determined that a Honda Accord moved at a high rate down the 10 Freeway while traveling eastbound. Then it slammed into a stationary Chevrolet van.
As a result of the crash, the impact pushed the van into the road and it crashed into an 18-wheeler.
DPS said paramedics transported Ramirez, who was a passenger of the Honda, to Riceland Medical Center. He later succumbed to his injuries and died.
Meanwhile, medics also brought the Honda’s driver to Riceland Medical Center with suspected incapacitating injuries. Authorities later identified her as 52-year-old Lilian Ho.
Both the drivers of the 18-wheeler and Chevrolet suffered minor injuries.
Texas DPS handles the ongoing investigation of the crash.
