AUSTIN, TX (February 14, 2024) – The Austin Police Department identified 39-year-old Jesse Duer who died in a pedestrian accident in the 700 block of West Howard Lane on February 1.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 7:06 AM. Based on a report, a pickup truck hit Deur who was in the lanes at that time. It was not clear if the crash took place in a crosswalk.
 
As a result, Deur suffered grave injuries. Medics with the Austin-Travis County performed CPR before they transported him to the hospital where he later died.
 
Subsequently, the driver of the truck remained on the scene and cooperated with the police.
 
Officers said impairment was not a factor in the incident.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
