Torrey Kirkmeyer and Jeremy Kirkmeyer Killed in Gig Harbor Car Crash

 
GIG HARBOR, WA (September 25, 2023) — Two people, 33-year-old Jeremy Kirkmeyer and 30-year-old Torrey Kirkmeyer, died in a crash on September 1.
 
According to Washington State Patrol, the crash happened at the Tacoma Narrows Bridge Toll Plaza just after 2:00 p.m.
 
According to the initial investigation, a pickup truck moved east on Highway 16. It did not slow down as it entered the toll plaza. State Patrol said the truck had cruise control on.
 
After that, the truck crossed traffic lanes and hit a car. The impact then forced the car forward into the toll booth.
 
The two occupants inside that car died of injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities said Jeremy was the driver and Torrey was the passenger. Both were Bremerton residents.
 
Paramedics also transported the two occupants of the truck to a medical center with unknown injuries. Officials only described them as a 61-year-old driver and a 63-year-old passenger.
 
No toll booth workers sustained injuries in the accident.
 
WSP said drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors in the incident.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
