Jefferson Ropero Identified in Fatal San Jose Car Crash

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 25, 2023) – The Santa Clara County’s Coroner’s Office identified 26-year-old Jefferson Smith Martinez Ropero who died in a crash on Fruitdale Avenue on May 21.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Leigh Avenue at approximately 1:30 PM. Based on a report from the San Jose Police Department, a gray Toyota Prius and a white Toyota Corolla collided.
 
Subsequently, one vehicle overturned in the lanes. It was not clear if it was the same vehicle that caught fire.
 
As a result, Ropero sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
