CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (February 20, 2025) – Javier Mireles died following a wrong-way crash on Everhart Road on Wednesday evening, February 12.
 
According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, the fatal incident happened around 3:31 p.m. on the 7200 block of Everhart Road.
 
Initial investigation reported that a green SUV was driving northbound in the southbound lane when it struck a black truck. The truck then collided with a blue SUV and crashed into a maroon SUV.
 
40-year-old Mireles, the driver of the green SUV, died at the scene.
 
Medics also transported three children occupying the green SUV and four children from the blue SUV with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The female driver of the maroon SUV was taken to a hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
 
Investigation into the incident remains open and active.
