Pilot Jared Alan Newman Dies in Plane Crash on Industry Way

 
MURRIETA, CA (July 12, 2023) — Jared Alan Newman died while his sons, Caleb Newman, Connor Newman and Elijah Newman, were hospitalized after a plane crash on Industry Way on Tuesday afternoon, July 4.

The fatal accident, which involved a Cessna 172, occurred in the 37300 block of Industry Way, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Authorities stated that 39-year-old Jared, who only had a student pilot certificate, operated the Cessna and was traveling with his three sons.

The aircraft departed at French Valley Airport and went airborne for about a quarter-mile to the east before it crashed, for reasons still unknown.

Respondents pronounced Jared dead at the scene and rendered aid to his children.

The survivors received transport to the Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego for treatment.

Elijah suffered serious injuries, which include a broken jaw, a lacerated liver and significant pulmonary contusions. Meanwhile, Caleb sustained a broken clavicle and several lung bruising and lacerations. Connor sustained a broken thigh.

All of the patients have been steadily recovering from their injuries.

With the National Transportation Safety Board at the helm, the incident is still being investigated.
