Jaime Barrera Jr., Andres Botello and Jose Lara Identified in Hebbronville Crash

 
HEBBRONVILLE, TX (November 17, 2023) – Officials identified 27-year-old Jaime Barrera Jr. of Roma, 66-year-old Andres Botello of Zapata and 23-year-old Jose Guadalupe Cepeda Lara of Zapata who died in a crash on Highway 16 on November 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 4:59 AM. Based on a report, Barrera was driving a 2016 GMC Sierra west on the highway prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, Botello was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Victorious Care Ambulance with Lara on the east side. Due to unknown reasons, the GMC crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with the ambulance.
 
As a result, Barrera, Botello, and Lara suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
