Jace Kultgen-DeLeon Dead; Rylan Bellatiere, Luis Espinoza-Gonzalez, and Adrian Montemayor Injured after Othello Accident
OTHELLO, WA (June 19, 2024) — An 18-year-old man, Jace Kultgen-DeLeon of Othello, died in a speeding crash on Monday, June 3.
The Washington State Patrol said the fatal solo-vehicle accident took place on Highway 26, about 2 miles west of Othello, at around 9:30 p.m.
According to WSP troopers, a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer driven by Kultgen-DeLeon traveled westbound at a high rate of speed. Then the vehicle crossed the center line and overturned. It eventually came to a stop on the eastbound shoulder.
Paramedics transported Kultgen-DeLeon to Othello Community Hospital where medical officers pronounced him dead.
First responders also transported the passengers, all from Othello, to the same hospital with injuries. Officers identified them as 19-year-old Rylan Bellatiere, 20-year-old Luis Espinoza-Gonzalez, and 21-year-old Adrian Montemayor.
Troopers listed the cause of the crash as speed. It’s not known if alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.
