Isabel Small, San Juanita De La Cruz, Victor Martinez, and Four Others Dead after Head-On Crash in Carizo Springs

 
CARIZO SPRINGS, CO (June 20, 2024) — Isabel Small and six other people died in a head-on accident on Thursday, June 6.
 
According to the Del Rio office of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at about 4:40 p.m. on FM 1433, about eight miles north of Carrizo Springs.
 
Texas DPS said a black Chrysler 300 moved at a high rate of speed westbound on FM 1433. Then it lost control and went onto the wrong side of the roadway. After that, it crashed head-on into a 1998 red Dodge pickup moving eastbound.
 
The Chrysler subsequently rolled into a ditch and caught on fire. The crash ended up killing the driver and three passengers.
 
Responding officers pronounced all four people dead at the scene. Due to the severity of their injuries, they have not yet been identified.
 
Authorities also pronounced the driver and two of the passengers of the Dodge dead. They identified them as 50-year-old Isabel Small, 64-year-old San Juanita De La Cruz, and 83-year-old Victor Manuel Martinez. They were all from Crystal City, Texas.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics airlifted two children in the Dodge to University Hospital in San Antonio.
