WELLTON, AZ (January 3, 2024) – Authorities identified 34-year-old Ijah Se’lah Smith of Atlanta, Georgia who died in a hit-and-run on South Avenue 36 E on December 19.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at 8 Freeway around 11:00 AM. Based on a report, authorities found Smith dead near the freeway.
 
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a vehicle struck the victim and left him on the road.
 
Smith suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Investigators did not release details of the hit-and-run vehicle.
