PHOENIX, AZ (August 21, 2024) — A young girl sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident on 39th Avenue on Monday, August 5.
 
According to the Phoenix police, the crash took place on 39th Avenue and Greenway Road near Greenway High School at about 7:45 a.m.
 
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the girl with life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders brought her to the hospital. She is now in stable condition.
 
Police have not released a report if the girl attends Greenway High School. They also have not released her age or identity.
 
Phoenix police said the driver did not face any charges.
 
Officials closed the area in all directions. It has since reopened.
