Giovani Gomez Died in Ceres Pedestrian Accident, Ricky Nail Jr. Involved

 
CERES, CA (November 2, 2022) – 22-year-old man Giovani Gomez of Ceres died after a pickup truck struck him on Service Road near Esmar Road on Friday evening, October 28.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident took place around 7:00 p.m. It involved a 2001 Chevrolet pickup driven by Ricky Nail Jr.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Nail Jr. was driving west when he struck Gomez who was walking in the roadway. Nail Jr. allegedly tried to avoid the pedestrian, but failed to do so.

The driver called 911 and police responded. Medical personnel took Gomez to Doctors Medical Center where he later died.

Nail Jr. did not sustain injuries.

Police are continuing the investigation at this time. No additional information was released.
