SACRAMENTO, CA (March 4, 2025) – Four people sustained injuries, resulting in the arrest of Jacob Perry in an alleged DUI crash on Highway 41 early Sunday morning, February 23.

The incident occurred south of Ashlan Avenue at around 1:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities stated that a Honda Accord, driven by 28-year-old Perry of Merced, had been traveling northbound in the No.3 lane on Highway 41.

Perry then failed to stop when approaching a CHP unit conducting a traffic stop with a Chevrolet Equinox for having activated rear overhead lights. This resulted in a collision.

The force of impact sent the patrol vehicle crashing into the Chevrolet.

All three vehicles then spun out of control, causing harm to four people involved.

The accident left a 26-year-old female passenger in the Honda with major injuries.

Meanwhile, two CHP officers suffered moderate injuries while the driver of the Chevrolet had minor injuries.

Respondents transported the patients to a local hospital for treatment.

Law enforcement then arrested Perry for felony DUI. After receiving medical attention, he would be booked into the Fresno County Jail.

The case is still under investigation.
