HAWYARD, CA (February 17, 2025) – A female pedestrian suffered injuries while police arrested a man in a crash on Tennyson Road and Calaroga Avenue on Monday morning, February 10.
 
According to the Hayward Police Department, the incident happened around 8:00 a.m.
 
Initial investigation indicated that a vehicle being driven by a 36-year-old man collided with a 26-year-old Hayward woman at the intersection.
 
The female victim suffered major injuries and later died at a hospital, despite life-saving measures.
 
Meanwhile, officials detained the male motorist involved. He was then transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention before being placed on a mental hold.
 
The investigation into the cause and factors surrounding the collision remains active and open.
