Eric Wommack Dead in Pasco Semi-Truck Accident
BURBANK, WA (February 5, 2025) — 63-year-old Eric L. Wommack of Pomeroy died in a semi-truck accident on Wednesday, January 29.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 12, near the Vaughn Hubbard Bridge over the Snake River.
Investigators said Wommac drove a 2020 Ford Ranger westbound on Highway 12. At the same time, a 2025 Kenworth semi-truck driven by 50-year-old Alvin E. Ortiz, of Richland, tried to cross the highway from Sacajawea Park Road, leading to the collision.
Emergency responders arrived. However, Wommack succumbed to sustained fatal injuries. They pronounced him dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Ortiz did not sustain injuries.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
