Eric Leuvano Dies in Seagraves Car Crash

 
SEAGRAVES, TX (April 23, 2024) — A Hobbs man identified as 49-year-old Eric Leuvano died in a car accident on Wednesday, April 10.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the major crash took place at the intersection of Highway 62 and County Road 109 at around 10:21 p.m.
 
The initial report said 23-year-old Ever Montes drove a Dodge Ram 1500 northeast on Highway 62. At the same time, Leuvano drove a Chevrolet Tahoe southwest on the same highway.
 
Then Montes tried to turn north onto County Road 109. However, he failed to yield the right of way at an open intersection. That resulted in Leuvano crashing into Montes.
 
Paramedics transported Leuvano to University Medcal Center in Lubbock where he later died.
 
According to DPS, medics brought Montes to Yoakum County Hospital with minor injuries.
 
Texas DPS said the weather was clear and the roadway was dry when the crash occurred. However, the investigation of the accident is still underway.
