DALLAS, TX (October 23, 2024) — A 26-year-old woman identified as Elizabeth Reyes died in a pedestrian accident on Monday, October 7.
 
Dallas Police said an SUV struck her along the side of Highway 75 near McCommas Boulevard on Monday night.
 
According to the Dallas Police, Reyes stood on the left shoulder of the southbound lanes of Highway 75 near McCommas Boulevard. She was waving traffic by as a man changed a flat tire. Then, an SUV moving south in the far-left lane struck a retaining wall. After that, it crashed into Reyes.
 
Emergency responders brought Reyes to a hospital, where medical officers pronounced her dead.
 
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
