Elizabeth Garcia Killed in Caldwell Semi-Truck Crash

 
CALDWELL, TX (February 16, 2023) – 23-year-old Elizabeth Garcia died following a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 36 on Saturday morning, February 11.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 10:25 a.m. near County Road 119. Initial investigation detailed that the crash involved a 2016 Hyundai Accent, a 2019 Freightliner 18-wheeler and a 2014 Ford Focus.

Authorities explained that the Hyundai heading northbound, made an unsafe pass and collided with the 18-wheeler heading southbound. The Ford, also driving southbound, ran over debris and became disabled.

The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Garcia, died at the scene.

The drivers of the 18-wheeler and Ford did not sustain injuries from the crash.

There are no additional details as of the moment as the crash remains under investigation.
