SEATTLE, WA (January 17, 2024) – Troopers confirmed that they arrested one person following a wrong-way accident on 5 Freeway on January 4.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Columbian Way. Based on a report, the suspect was driving a silver Ford hatchback southbound on the northbound lanes of the highway before the incident.
 
Subsequently, the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a taxi head-on.
 
As a result, the impact threw a passenger from the taxi and got seriously hurt. Emergency crews took the victim, the taxi driver, and the wrong-way driver to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
