RTD Bus Accident on East Colorado Avenue at South Dayton Street in Aurora
AURORA, CO (February 26, 2025) – Authorities confirmed that a driver suffered injuries in a bus accident on East Colorado Avenue on February 22.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident happened at South Dayton Street at about 4:45 PM. Based on a report, the 46-year-old Aurora man was driving an RTD bus near the intersection.
The Aurora Police Department said the bus collided with a car and crashed into a small pond.
As a result, the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. About 15 people were on the bus at the time. No one else was hurt in the incident.
Crews closed Dayton Street in both directions while they removed the bus from the pond.
The driver received a summons for careless driving resulting in injury, which is a misdemeanor.
