Donna Lynn Sulu Dies After Bakersfield Crash on Highway 178
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 25, 2025) – Donna Lynn Sulu died following a crash on Highway 178 on Tuesday afternoon, February 18.
The fatal incident occurred east of Lake Isabella Boulevard at around 12:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities stated that a 2019 Subaru being driven by 62-year-old Sulu had headed east on 178 when, for reasons still undetermined, she failed to negotiate a curve in the road.
The Subaru then drifted off the road before slamming into several roadway signs.
Afterwards, the Subaru continued to veer in a northeast direction. It entered the westbound lane, where it crashed into a 2021 International.
The accident left Sulu dead at Kern Valley Hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the International had pain complaints on their back.
Officials are still working on determining the cause and circumstances behind the crash.
As the investigation remains in progress, no further information is released at this time.
