Dominic Cubit Killed in Accident on Stairtown Loop at State Highway 80 [Caldwell County, TX]

Prairie Lea ISD Student Dominic Cubit Identified in Fatal Accident on Stairtown Loop in Caldwell County

 
CALDWELL COUNTY, TX (August 11, 2023) – Officers identified Dominic Cubit who died in an accident on Stairtown Loop on July 30.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened just west of State Highway 80 around 2:30 PM. Based on a report, Cubit was a Prairie Lea ISD student onboard a Chevrolet Equinox traveling near the intersection.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the Chevy crashed in the lanes. The force ejected him from the vehicle. A trooper found three passengers providing aid.
 
Emergency crews life-flighted Cubit to a medical facility in Hays County, where he died.
 
The three students with him had minor injuries from the crash.
 
A GoFundMe is raising money to help Cubit’s family pay for burial costs.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
