BOOKER, TX (October 10, 2024) — 72-year-old Dennis Gensman, of Darrouzett, died in a two-vehicle accident on Monday, September 30.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred on Highway 15 near County Road 10 at about 7:05 p.m.
 
DPS said a John Deere tractor, with an unknown year and model, traveled west on Highway 15, moving on a slope east of County Road 10. At the same time, a 2022 GMC Sierra also moved west on the highway. It approached the rear of the tractor.
 
According to DPS, due to the low light and the tractor not having marked illuminated placards,  the pickup truck’s driver did not see the tractor. Then it struck the tractor from behind.
 
EMT Jonathan Sell pronounced Gensman, who was behind the wheel of the tractor, dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the pickup driver who sustained minor injuries to Ochiltree General Hospital.
 
The road and weather conditions were dry and clear when the collision happened.
 
Authorities handle the ongoing investigation of the crash.
