David Tanton Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 10 Freeway in Beaumont

 
BEAUMONT, TX (July 30, 2024) – The Beaumont Police Department identified 65-year-old David Tanton who died in a pedestrian accident in the 200 block of 10 Freeway on July 7.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 4:30 AM. Based on a report, Tanton was on the road trying to cross the freeway at the time of the accident.
 
There was a heavy rainstorm and due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck the victim.
 
As a result, Tanton sustained grave injuries in the incident. Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, Sr. pronounced him dead at the scene.
 
There was no information about the driver of the vehicle.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
