MODESTO, CA (February 10, 2023) – 46-year-old David Pina from Stockton was struck and killed on Highway 99 on Thursday, February 2.

According to the California Highway Patrol, they were notified of the collision at 11:41 p.m. near Kansas Avenue.

Based on a report, Pina was seen running in the northbound lanes of the highway and was eventually hit by a vehicle. There are no clear details as to how the crash was initiated.

Responders found Pina with fatal injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop to render aid. However, it is still unknown if other vehicles struck the pedestrian.
