David McKinney Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver in Houston

 
HOUSTON, TX (July 30, 2024) – The Houston Police Department identified 32-year-old David McKinney who died in a hit-and-run on Veterans Memorial Drive on July 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Gulf Bank Road at approximately 5:00 AM. Based on a report, the victim was trying to break up a fight at a Chevron parking lot before the incident.
 
At some point, an unidentified suspect got into his truck and ran McKinney over. The suspect fled the scene afterward.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Police described the suspect’s vehicle as a 2003 Chevy Silverado with a Texas license plate reading: TDY9548.
 
Police ask anyone with any information that could help lead to an arrest to call HPD or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
