AMARILLO, TX (July 8, 2024) – The Amarillo Police Department identified 30-year-old David Martinez of Canyon who died in a pedestrian accident on Soncy Road on June 7.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Lexington Square around 9:35 PM. Based on a report, Martinez crossed a dark area on Soncy Road.
 
Police said that an APD officer responding to a collision did not see him and hit him.
 
As a result, Martinez suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to Northwest Texas Hospital, where he died.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
