Danny Morgan Dead in Car Accident on FM 487 [Thorndale, TX]

Danny Morgan Fatally Injured after Thorndale Car Accident

 
THORNDALE, TX (August 29, 2024) — A 54-year-old Cameron man identified as Danny Ray Morgan died in a an accident on Friday, August 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers, they responded to the crash at around 2:16 p.m. on FM 487, about 0.15 miles east of FM 3061.
 
Texas DPS said a 53-year-old man from Bertram, Texas, drove a 2016 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer. Then it slowed down to make a left turn into a private drive. At the same time, Morgan drove a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup truck behind the truck tractor semi-trailer.
 
However, the Ford Ranger pickup truck failed to control speed. It then crashed into the rear of the flatbed trailer.
 
Responding officers pronounced Morgan dead on the scene. Authorities have notified his next of kin.
