CORNING, CA (March 3, 2025) – Daniel Rodriguez Romero and another person died died while Alexis Aguilar Jacinto was injured following a crash on Interstate 5 early Sunday morning, February 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident happened north of Liberal Avenue.
 
What led to the crash remains unclear but police said it involved a 2001 Toyota Avalon.
 
The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Romero, and a 13-year-old male teenager died at the scene.
 
Another passenger, identified as 18-year-old Jacinto, was taken to Enloe Medical Center with major injuries.
 
The crash remains under investigation but authorities believe that alcohol is a factor.
