D Aundre Laffoon Killed in El Paso Car Accident

 
EL PASO, TX (January 13, 2025) — A 27-year-old El Paso man, D Aundre Kahlil Malik Laffoon, died in a car accident on Wednesday, January 1.
 
According to the El Paso Police Department, Laffoon drove a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta at a high rate of speed at around 3:55 a.m. on Loop 375 and Vista Del Sol Drive.
 
Laffoon crashed into the back of a 2023 Lexus driven by a 40-year-old man on Loop 375. Then he lost control of his Volkswagen, and the vehicle went off the roadway. After that, it overturned.
 
The crash ejected Laffoon from the vehicle. A 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by a 55-year-old man, subsequently struck Laffoon, who was lying on the roadway.
 
Officials said that speeding and Laffoon being on the roadway were contributing factors in the incident.
 
This is the first traffic-related death of 2025 compared to one at this same time last year.
