Two Hurt in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 24

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (January 27, 2025) — A trooper and an arrestee were hurt in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 24 on Sunday, January 19.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision occurred at around 4:48 p.m. on Highway 24 near Newt Drive.
 
CSP said authorities reported that the trooper was transporting a suspect arrested on a warrant from an earlier traffic stop. Then the patrol vehicle collided with a Toyota Prius.
 
Emergency responders arrived and then transported the arrested to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. They also brought the trooper to the hospital as a precaution.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota Prius declined medical treatment at the scene.
 
Photographs of the incident show significant front-end damage to the trooper’s vehicle and crumpled passenger-side damage to the Toyota Prius.
 
The crash prompted the temporary closure of westbound Highway 24 overnight.
