Cristian Valenciano and Anissa Calderon Arrested, Woman Hospitalized after Laredo DUI Accident

 
LAREDO, TX (January 10, 2025) — Authorities arrested Cristian Valenciano and Anissa Calderon after a DUI accident on Wednesday, January 1.
 
According to the Laredo Police Department, the incident happened at about 6:34 a.m. at the intersection of the 3300 block of Lomas Del Sur Boulevard and South Ejido Avenue.
 
LPD said 27-year-old Cristian Daniel Valenciano drove a Ford F-350 with two passengers. Then they reportedly struck a Ford Focus driven by 24-year-old Anissa Margarita Calderon.
 
The impact of the collision ejected a 27-year-old woman from the Focus onto the street. Police believe she was later run over by a vehicle. Emergency responders airlifted her to San Antonio in critical condition.
 
Meanwhile, the passengers in the Ford F-350 and Calderon did not suffer serious injuries.
 
LPD said that officers at the scene smelled a strong alcohol scent from Valenciano’s breath. They brought Valenciano to the hospital, where he declined to submit a blood sample. Police obtained a warrant for the sample.
 
After that, officers arrested Valenciano. They charged him with intoxication assault, a third-degree felony.
 
In addition, authorities also arrested Calderon. They charged her with driving under the influence.
