Mizraim Tejeda-Trujillo Arrested, Woman Hurt after Lafayette Speeding Accident

 
LAFAYETTE, CO (February 5, 2025) — Authorities arrested Mizraim Fernando Tejeda-Trujillo after a speeding accident on Tuesday, January 28.
 
According to the Lafayette Police Department, the incident began at around 11:00 a.m. and ended in a crash near West Baseline Road and North Public Road.
 
Lafayette Police 28-year-old Tejeda-Trujillo reportedly arrived at a woman’s apartment intoxicated. Police said he physically attacked her and prevented her from calling 911.
 
When the woman managed to escape to a neighbor’s home, Tejeda-Trujillo attempted to steal her vehicle. As he drove off, the victim tried to intervene by entering the passenger seat. She was partially outside the vehicle and unable to secure her seatbelt.
 
He sped away and ran a stop sign, reaching 70 mph in a 30 mph zone. After that, he reached another red light, where he almost hit a vehicle.
 
The car subsequently went airborne. Then it rolled multiple times. Due to the impact, the woman fell out of the front passenger-side door. She sustained a fractured rib, which resulted in a collapsed lung.
 
Officers arrived and then brought Tejeda-Trujillo into custody. They held him on a $75,000 bond. He faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, second-degree kidnapping, vehicular assault, and driving under the influence.
 
Authorities also confirmed he had outstanding warrants.
