FORT WORTH, TX (January 22, 2025) — Officials identified 67-year-old Colleen Mays as the victim of a hit-and-run on Friday, December 27.
 
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:10 a.m. on 30 Freeway, near Highway 580, located on the 11600 block West Freeway.
 
Police said that Mays was walking along the roadway. Then a red Toyota sedan struck her and fled the scene.
 
Emergency responders arrived and then pronounced Mays dead at the scene.
 
Evidence collected at the crash site indicates that the vehicle sustained damage to the driver’s side mirror and front quarter panel.
 
The investigation remains ongoing as police work to locate the suspect and determine the circumstances of the crash.
